This is the 2nd part of our multi part blog . In the first part we discussed how to set up Google My Business (formally Google Places)
In this part we're going to discuss the importance of having a responsive (mobile/tablet friendly) website.
As we learnt in part 1, its imperative that Google is a friend to your business. Generating over 90% of the search traffic in the UK and 85% worldwide.
In April 2015, Google released a significant change in their algorithm. The new 'mobile friendly' algorithm was purely designed to give mobile friendly websites a boost.
Search algorithms at Google are tweaked and changed on a daily basis, but changes of this magnitude only come around once in a blue moon.
This was such a big change in the way Google ranks websites that the press coined the phrase mobilegeddon.
Everyone knew at the time that these changes were going to be big! The BBC released a press release the same day Google made their announcement.
Google have not held back - you either pass or fail - there is no in between!
If you're unsure whether your website meets Googles' guidelines then I recommend that you use their free Google Mobile Checker
If you pass GREAT! If you fail you might want to quickly consider a new website!
